South Point, National High, Modern High, and St Lawrence rowers advance to round two of Regatta Championship in Kolkata
Kolkata: Rowers from South Point, National High School, Modern High School, and St Lawrence progressed to the second round of the 50th All India Invitation Schools Regatta, organised by Lake Club here on Tuesday.

South Point began their campaign with a strong showing—junior boys defeated La Martiniere and senior boys outrowed Andrews in the pairs event. Their senior girls also triumphed over National High School in pairs and later beat Lake Girls High School in the fours category.
National High School made a solid mark as well, with senior boys winning against Jagabandhu and New Horizon in fours. Their senior girls beat La Martiniere, while the senior boys also overcame compatriots National High School in fours.
Modern High pulled off a surprise in the first round of the senior girls’ fours by defeating strong contenders South Point.
In the first round of the pairs – junior boys category, Jagadamba beat Patha Bhavan, Tirthapati Institution beat Jagabandhu Institution, and St. Lawrence beat South Calcutta High School.
In junior girls, Delhi Public School beat St Paul’s, Binodini Balika Vidyalaya beat La Martiniere for Girls, Andrews beat Sir Nripen High School, Patha Bhavan beat Beltola Girls, BSS beat Kamala Girls, and Ashok Hall beat La Martiniere.
In the senior girls section, South Point beat National High School, while Ashok Hall defeated La Martiniere.
In the pairs – senior boys, Lake Point beat La Martiniere, Kalidhan beat Khalsa, and Khalsa beat Andrews.
Moving to junior boys, Future Hope beat New Horizon, Patha Bhavan beat Kalidhan, St Andrew beat New Horizon, and Future Hope also beat Patha Bhavan.
In the fours – junior girls, DPS beat Binodini. Finally, in the fours – Senior Boys, Lake Point beat Andrews, and Khalsa High School beat La Martiniere.
