10 Bangladeshi, Rohingyas arrested from different parts of Tripura for illegal entry
Despite strong surveillance in entire stretch of India-Bangladesh along with Tripura after unrest in Bangladesh to stop any attempt infiltration by Bangladeshi anti-social elements, Altogether 9 Bangladesh nationals and two Rohingyas including women, one children and a Indian tout, were arrested by the security forces from different parts of the state and the infiltration from the neighbouring country into Tripura still unabated.
Giving details, officer-in-charge (OC) of West Agartala police station, Paritosh Das said that based on the interrogation statement of one previously arrested Bangladeshi, police on Friday night arrested two Bangladesh Youths from Agartala city centre area. Police seized two mobile sets and some Indian currencies under their possessions, said Das and added that both arrested Bangladesh nationals were produced before a local court with police remand appeals for further interrogation to get details of other Bangladeshi hidden in the city.
In another incident, the Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel posted at Agartala Railway station on arrested two Rohingyas from Agartala Railway station for entering India illegally on Friday before they trying to board a train to travel to Kolkata
The Rohingyas nationals, aged between 25 years to 2 years and residents of camp number- of Chittagong’s Rohingya camps, said OC of GRP of Agartala railway station, Tapash das and added that they came to India in search of jobs. He said that both arrested Rohingyas were produced before a local court with police remand appeals for further interrogation.
BSF sources said that on Saturday based on specific inputs, BSF troops detained three Bangladeshi including women and a girl child from the area of Border Out Post (BOP) Rangichera while they were negotiating the border fence.
BSF through a press statement said that during on-the-spot enquiry they revealed that two of their associates had already crossed the border fence and moved towards village Bagicherra.
Thereafter an operation along with state police was launched in village Bagicherra in which two more Bangladesh nationals and one tout were detained.
All the apprehended Bangladesh nationals are residents of Moulvibazar, Sylhet in Bangladesh and belong to the same family. It was also revealed that the tout, who has been working as a carpenter in Halhalli in Kamalpur since long, is also a Bangladeshi national and belongs to Hingjiya chai bagan,Moulvibazar, Sylhet. Further investigation is going on.
In recent times BSF has not only intensified the operations against the infiltrators but also strengthened the anti-infiltration apparatus to prevent the infiltration into Indian territory.
The bordering Tripura, which is a top hotspot travelling destination for human trafficking, specially for Rohingyas and Bangladesh nationals, who were illegally entered into Indian territory and moves towards other parts of the country through different means of surface communication with help of Indian and Bangladeshi touts, but many time, the alert security forces have also managed to detain them.
A Border Security Force (BSF) spokesman said that the paramilitary forces are cracking down heavily on the illegal migration by Bangladeshi nationals and have stepped up the vigil in close coordination with sister agencies in the border area.
Following the direction of Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, the BSF has stepped up its drive against illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and all field formations are actively breaking down the nexus of touts in the bordering areas.

It may be recalled here that Tripura Frontier Inspector General Patel Piyush Purushottam Das said that 95 percent of the 856 km India-Bangladesh border with Tripura has already been fenced, while fencing work is going on in the remaining 27.5 km.
Over the last three months, more than 200 Bangladeshi nationals and 40 Rohingyas were arrested by the GRP, BSF and Tripura Police from the Agartala railway station and various other places in Tripura after they illegally entered India.
Officials said that all the Bangladeshis and Rohingyas illegally entered Tripura to board trains or buses to go to other states in India “in search of jobs”.
