12% DA: BJP welcomes, CPI (M), TMC claims insufficient over high inflation
Soon after the announcement of 12 % hike in DA and DR for state government employees and pensioners by Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, the ruling BJP has congratulated the state government for this historic decision, while, opposition claimed that it will insufficient over the extra burden on employees due to inflation.
Addressing a press conference here at state BJP office on Tuesday afternoon, party’s spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty accompanied by general secretary Papiya Datta said that “it’s a historic day and after statehood, never before has any state government increased the DA to 12%.”
Chakraborty said that its bold decision by the state government and the decision prove the big heart and discipline of finance management of the state government.
After formation of BJP government, the salary structure of government employees from 2.25 fitment factor has been increased to 2.57 factor to 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) and government’s welfare step has been be seen by substantially increases of compensation for the hard work done by the DRWs, MRWs, PTWs and contingent workers by increasing the remuneration and wages over 50%, said Chakraborty.
For this bold step, the BJP and the people of the state from their hearts expressed their gratitude towards the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and all of its cabinet members, said Chakraborty and added that this decision will boost up the market and money will flow in every section of the society.
Reacting over the decision, CPI (M) state secretary Jitendra Chowdhury said that the government has to increase the DA for employees, because there are 31 % DA pending. By giving 12% DA is not a big thing; BJP had promised for 7th CPC and where their pre-poll commitment is, asked Chowdhury and added that BJP is a party of false statements.
He added that 58 months long misrule, violence and atrocities on common people, the people of the state will not forget these black days and are now preparing to give them a befitting reply.
Trinamool Congress’s (TMC) state president Pijush Kanti Biswas reacting over the 12% hike of DA and DR said that inflation has reached its peak during the last 8 years and the 12% DA will not reduce the pain and suffering of high prices. He said that the BJP government totally failed to control the high price rate in the market and hoped that with 12% DA, the employees of the state will not attract.
He said that frustration of the present state government is seen with their poll dole and has also asked where their pre-poll commitments are.
Meanwhile, Tipra Citizens Federation leader Tapash Dey in a statement has appealed to the state to give the benefits of 12% DA to all contractual employees of National Health Mission (NHM) and MGNREGA employees.
