202 students of Madhyamik, HS awarded by CM for academic excellence

Along with academic activities, every student should involve themselves with sporting and other creative activities by stressing on punctuality to become a successful person in life, said Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.

Addressing the annual state award for academic excellence”Chief Minister Annual State Award for Academic Excellence” to school students-2022 held at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala on Friday to give award to the meritorious students of Madhyamik and Higher Secondary (HS) of Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE), Dr Saha that a student with proper academic activities can built their life as a proper human being and can contribute their best for the society.

He said that from the year 2018, the Education department is awarding the meritorious students of TBSE for their best academic excellence and to motivate the students of the state for best performances in their academic activities.

As a result, now the pass percentage of Madhyamik and HS examinations by TBSE rose significantly, said Dr Saha and added that the pass percentage of Madhyamik examinations in 2018 was 52.25 %, which has increased at 91.02% in the year 2022.

Similarly, the pass percentage of Higher Secondary from 37.30 % (2018) to increase at 86.55% in 2022 said Dr Saha and added that the pass percentage of tribal students in board examinations has also improved significantly.

He also urges the students to make their study into their regular habits and should visit the library to learn more about renowned scholars of the country by reading their successful life stories.

Dr Said that modern educational infrastructures have    been built in the state with different professional courses to give better opportunities to the state’s students for higher education and now the state has one central university, one state university, law college, forensic university, dental college, engineering college, two medical colleges and pharmacy college.

He also said that the present state government has adopted a ‘zero tolerance’ policy against drug abuse and all students along with their teachers have to create and play a vital role for mass awareness against drug abuses.

During the award giving ceremony, altogether 202 students including 36 meritorious students of Madhyamik and 166 more students of Higher Secondary were awarded with I-Pad and a citation for their academic excellences.

The Secretary of Education department Sardhindhu Choudhury, TBSE’s President Dr Bhabotosh Saha and director of Higher Education N C Sharma also delivered their addresses.
