2024 Lok Sabha election crucial for country's development: CM
Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha said on Tuesday that the upcoming Lok Sabha election is crucial for advancing the development of the country.
While addressing an election campaign at Jolaibari under South District, Dr Saha emphasized that this Lok Sabha election will determine the future direction of the country.
"If the country progresses, so will we. The development initiatives, including socio-economic development and national security, will be decided by this election. This election is pivotal for advancing the country's development, and we must not underestimate its importance," he stated.
He said that in 2018, CPI (M) was ousted from Tripura and under the leadership of PM Modi, BJP formed the government.
“In 2019 we won both the seats and in the 2023 Assembly Election, the unholy alliance tried to create confusion among people by saying that they will form the government, but we have also seen that due to PM Modi, we formed the government again. Now Lok Sabha election is coming, and I am confident that both the candidates will win the election with a massive margin. During nomination filing, we have witnessed that the crowd which joined us was noticeable. People have faith in PM Modi, and that’s why they are ready to vote in favor of BJP,” he said.
He said that due to PM Modi, Tripura has witnessed massive support starting from internet to railways, highways, etc.
“I speak with officials on when the electrification will complete for the Vande Bharat express. They said that in most of the places, the electrification is completed. PM Modi always gives a guarantee and only thinks about development. We are working for the development of Jati and Janajati. We must ensure the victory of BJP to make our country stronger,” said Dr Saha.
Dr Saha also slammed the CPI(M) and Congress for confusing the people in the name of the INDI alliance and said, “People can understand everything; they can't fool people anymore. They are now speaking about democracy. We have seen how they killed democracy during their regime. Many people, including opposition party people, were killed, officials murdered.”
During the program, Former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Minister Tinku Roy, Sukla Charan Noatia, BJP vice president Subal Bhowmik and MLA Pramod Reang were present.
