24 BJP and Tipra-Motha workers join CPI (M) in party headquarters
Amidst spree joining to different political parties remained unabated as some jubilant opposition and ruling party leaders deserted their camps, now on Saturday altogether 24 leaders and workers of BJP and Tipra-Motha joined CPI(M) during a simple programme held at CPI(M) headquarters in Agartala.
After the joining programme, CPI (M) state secretary and MLA Jitendra Chaudhury said that some leaders of BJP and Tipra-Motha, whose forefathers were associated with Ganamukti Parishad (GMP), had supported the BJP and Motha due to their misguided slogans. Now, they realized the fake slogans for upliftment of indigenous people and decided to join their old party to strengthen the movements against deprivation and politics of violence.
As part of the process altogether 24 leaders and workers of ruling BJP and ‘Tipra Motha’ from the Panboa ADC village under Kamalpur subdivision on Saturday arrived at the state CPI (M) headquarter and joined the party. They accepted the party flag from the state CPI (M) secretary Jitendra Chaudhury and formally joined the party.
They also declared their resolve to work for the CPI (M) from now on, said Chaudhury and added that there is deep frustration among people belonging to all classes and castes in the state over the misrule of BJP and ‘complete lawlessness’ prevailing all over the state . “Many more such joining are in the offing as people have already realized the true nature of BJP’s misrule ; in the days to come CPI (M) will emerge stronger in state politics and will be able to put up a major political challenge to BJP,” said Chaudhury.
