92% PMAY houses got free electricity connections, RD Dept
Tripura government has provided free electricity connection at 92% houses made under Prime Minister Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana(PMAY) scheme across the state.
Addressing a press conference here at Civil Secretariat on Wednesday afternoon, the special secretary of Rural Development department Dr Sandip R Rathore said that the government has also ensured drinking water supply to 77% houses made under PMAY scheme, toilet facilities 87 % and 77 % houses were also equipped with LPG connections.
Giving details of the success of the state over implementation of the PMAY scheme, the state government had received the sanction of 2, 28,411 houses in the last financial year.
He said that prior to the financial year 2018-19, the sanctioned houses were 24,989 and in the financial year 2021-22, the sanctioned houses were 2,28,411. The government expenditures to complete the large number of houses since April last year till date, a total of Rs. 2061.80 crore have been spent.
Giving details over Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM), the special secretary said that during financial year 2022-23, a total of 489 vacant contractual positions are already filled up under the mission and for social and economic empowerment of women, in 2022-23, TRLM has mobilized around 63,808 women from rural poor families into 7,696 Self Help Groups (SHGs) and initiatives are being taken for augmenting their livelihood.
In the FY 2022-23, around 4214 SHGs have been provided Revolving Fund (RF) for Rs. 4.59 crore and 2536 SHGs have been provided Community Investment Fund (CIF) for Rs. 31.92 crore, said Rathore and to augment the livelihood activities of women SHG members, Rs.120.18 crore bank loans have already been mobilized to women SHGs in the same financial year. Significantly, the NPA rate on SHG bank loans is only around 2.1%.
He said that under ‘Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Rurban Mission’, altogether 136 numbers of projects have been completed in this scheme and expenditure incurred is Rs. 377.64 crore.
He said that transformation of the aspirational block programme was launched in 12 backward tribal blocks during 2019 with the aim to improve the service delivery to 44 key priority indicators involving 9 departments with main thrust to that a;; departments shall ensure 8 to 10% of higher allocation of in those identified blocks. At present the programme is being implemented by all the concerned departments which is being regularly reviewed by the DMs for progress of the mission.
