CPI (M), Congress leaders met family members of Shahid Miah
After killing of CPI(M) worker Shahid Miah (75) during a political violence in Charilam on November 30th last, a team of CPI(M) legislative members led by opposition leader Manik Sarkar on Thursday visited the house of slain party workers to express their condolence with bereaved family members.
After the visit of CPIM) MLAs, the Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman along with senior party leaders Ashish Kumar Saha and Youth Congress president Rakhu Das also visited the house of Shahid Miah.
They conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family and promised to stand by them whenever they needed any help. The bereaved family as well as local people appreciated the gesture of opposition political parties.
The CPI (M) delegation included leader of the opposition Manik Sarkar, party MLA s Bhanulal Saha, Shahid Chowdhury, Sudhan Das , Nirmal Biswas and all the members of the CPI (M)’s Bishalgarh subdivisional committee met the slain family members.
After listening to the grievances of the family of slain Shahid Miah, opposition leader Manik Sarkar expressed his deep condolences and condemned the killing of innocent people . He promised to stay by the family and help them in every way. Sarkar demanded immediate arrest of all culprits responsible for the killing of Shahid Miah and urged the people to continue their movements to restore democracy in the state.
Sarkar said that this is high time for people of the state to stand united against violent and oppressive politics of ruling BJP to get rid of ‘misrule’. He also urged the people to ensure the rights of common people and rules of law in the state.
While, Sudip and Ashish also speaking with media persons expressed their condolences and demanded immediate arrest of all miscreants responsible for the murder of Shahid Miah.
