Tripura to have 13 mobile veterinary ambulances
Tripura government will introduce the mobile veterinary unit and altogether 13 veterinary ambulances will be pressed into services to protect the health of animals.
Addressing a press conference here at Civil Secretariat on Friday, the principal secretary of Animal Husbandry department of B S Mishra said that under the ‘Mobile Veterinary unit’ within December 5th, five ambulances will start functioning and the remaining 8 more ambulances will arrive in the state at the last part of December.
He said this for the first time, the mobile veterinary unit will start functioning across the state and in the initial stage, the union government has sanctioned Rs. 2.8 crore funds for this project with 90:10 ratios.
Mishra said that all mobile veterinary vehicles will reach at the doorstep of animal rearers through call centre operation and all ambulances will be equipped with one animal doctor, one assistant and a driver. All these ambulances will have facilities for laboratory tests.
Mishra said that the president of Veterinary Council of India (VCI), Dr Umesh Chandra Sharma along with a team of VCI visited the state for the first time to take stock of the activities of the veterinary professionals and present the status of the college of Veterinary sciences and AH at RK Nagar.
He said that VCI president had expressed his satisfaction with infrastructure available in the college, however stressed upon recruitment of faculties as per the minimum standard of veterinary education.
As per the request of the VCI , the state government has decided to recruit of 67 veterinary officers through Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC), said Mishra
He added that the VCI president also praised on the success of the sexed semen based AI technology in the state under the flagship project ‘Mukhyamantri Unnat Godhan Prakalp’ and referred the scheme as pioneer project in the state Eastern and North Eastern region with a huge target of covering 1.56 lakh breedable cattle in next 3 years.
Mishra also said that the VCI have also expressed their satisfaction over the success of Animal Husbandry based CM Swanirvar Parivar Yojana being implemented by ARDD.
