A drug peddler from Rajasthan arrested at Agartala railway station with Ganja
In continuation of its anti-narcotic drive in different trains and Agartala Railway station, the Government Railway Police (GRP) on Wednesday again arrested a drug peddler and seized 25 kilograms of dry cannabis (Ganja) under his possession before his leaving towards Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Officer-in-charge of Government railway police station, Tapash Das said that during routine checkup of all passenger and express trains leaving from Agartala station by GRP and RPF, police noticed a movement of suspected youth near the parcel office of the station.
Then, a police team detained him, who was about to board a Delhi bound express train to go for his house in Jaipur , Rajasthan with big bags, said Das.
He said that in the course of search, the GRP recovered 25 kilograms of dry Ganja from his bags and arrested the youth, identified as Subash Jatt (25) of Chamu village of Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The OC added that the arrested drug peddler was said that he had procured this seized Ganja from Tripura and was moving towards his native village to sell in their local markets at a high rate.
While, police on Wednesday produced him before a local court with three days police remand appeal under a specific case of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
