About 2 lakh households participated in Rangoli Utsav on the theme of peaceful election
In order to make the ensuing general Election to Tripura Legislative Election 2023 a peaceful and violence free, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Tripura Kiran Gitte has taken various initiatives.
On December 31st, 2022 two missions namely ‘Mission Zero Poll Violence’ and ‘Mission 929’ have been launched. As a part of these missions, all the Returning Officers have been conducting assembly constituency wise sensitization workshop involving representatives from political parties, eminent persons, police, social workers, media, CAPF officials. On ‘Peaceful Election’, ‘Communal Harmony’ and ‘Accessible Election’ the CEO has organized ‘Rangoli Utsav’ throughout the state on the eve of Poush Sankranti. He has appealed all the households of Tripura to take part in this festival by making Rangoli in their house. In every assembly constituency one prominent road has been selected for making Rangolis on these themes.
The state level programme was organized in front of the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, Agartala where the Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha , the CEO Kiran Gitte, the DM(West) Debapriya Bardhan and other officers have participated.
Speaking with media persons Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha told that in spite of difference of opinion the people of Tripura believes in peace and communal harmony. He has congratulated all the people who have participated in the Rangoli Utsav.
CEO Kiran Gitte said that this time a mission has been set up to conduct the ensuing Election with zero poll violence. For furtherance of message of the mission , various activities have been taken up. To cater this message to every household, this Rangoli Utsav has been organized involving all the households of Tripura. Gitte has also appealed to all the households of the state to participate. Till 3.00 PM the report from 51 Assembly Constituencies indicates that 1,64,363 households participated in the Rangoli Utsav. It is likely that the figure may cross 2 lakhs for all 60 Assembly Constituencies in the state, said Gitte.
