Another thief involved with stealing a private car from Agartala city’s thickly populated area Gandhighat area, the city police arrested in the wee hours of Thursday .
Giving details, OC of West Agartala police station Paritosh Das said on March 17 last, a gang of thieves stole a Maruti-800 car from thickly populated Gandhighat area of Agartala and after reviewing CCTV footage with the help of Smart City CCTV cameras and police own network, they managed to recover the stolen car from Pragati School area of the city and have arrested the lifter, identified as Arjun Das (25) of Radhanagar Abasan.
Based on his interrogation statement, police are looking for other thieves involved with the incident and based on specific inputs, police in the wee hours of Thursday managed to arrest one fugitive thief from his rented house in ONGC area of Agartala, who has been identified as Sankar Sarkar.
OC added that arrested Sankar Sarkar will be produced before a local court with police remand appeals to get information of other fugitive thieves involved with stolen of car.
