AR organised motor cycle rally to commemorate Vijay Diwas
The Agartala Sector of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organised a Motor Cycle Rally in Tripura to commemorate Vijay Diwas on December 16.
Tripura had played a significant role during the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971 and the 51st Vijay Diwas celebrations were dedicated to people of Tripura who had contributed during the War of Liberation. The motorcycle rally was flagged off from Kailashahar, crossing Teliamura ended at Agartala.
The rally was ended at Umakanta Academy stadium and Brigadier Vikram Singh Guleria, DIG of Agartala Sector welcomed all bike riders. Brigadier Vikram Singh Guleria addressed the local populace in Bengali language highlighting the contribution of Tripura's people during the 1971 War. The Deputy Inspector General also felicitated Mr Rajiv Chattarjee , so of late Captain S R Chattarjee (Mukti Bahini Family) who had trained the Mukti Bahini during the war of 1971. A total of 100 local bikers and 50 Assam Rifles bikers participated in the bike rally.
