Assam police arrested three with two Tripura drug smugglers with arms and Yaba tablets

In a successful inter-state anti-drug operation, the neighbouring Assam police has arrested three drug smugglers along with two from Tripura with large quantities of highly addictive Yaba (methamphetamine) tablets, one pistol and 14 mobile sets.

Sources said that based on secret information over movements of inter-state drug smugglers, on Saturday night Karimganj district police of Assam conducts two separate operations at Nebiya watch post under Ratabari police station and during the raid, Assam police has detained a Tata private car and recovered 145 grams of Yaba tablets under the possessions of two smugglers, identified as Dilwoyar Chakma and Nandalal Chakma of Pecharthal area of North Tripura district.

Based on their interrogation statement, police conducted another raid at the house of one drug smuggler Nur Uddin at Jalalabad area of the same district and during search at his house, police recovered  a country made pistol, one passport, 3 ATM cards , one PAN card and 14 mobile sets with some cash amount.

Police also arrested Nur Uddin and registered a specific case under Arms Act and NDPS Act.
