Assam Rifles destroyed Cannabis plants worth of Rs. 1.2 crore
The Radhanagar battalion of Agartala Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (E) destroyed large scale cultivation of Marijuana (Ganja) plants in forest area of Machmara under Unakoti district on Sunday.
Assam Rifles through a press statement said that based on the input received from own source and police that large scale plantation of Marijuana (Ganja) in forest land of Machmara, Unakoti district, a joint operation was launched by the party of Radhanagar Battalion of Assam Rifles with SDPO Kumarghat and police representative from Pecharthal Police Station on Sunday. The operation party destroyed approximately 60,000 Marijuana plants which were planted in 3.5 acre of forest land at Machmara.
The State police has valued the total destroyed Marijuana plant to an approximate cost of Rs 1.2 Crore and state police launched an operation to arrest the accused cultivators.
