Attacked at SDM office in Santirbazar , 12 injured
Soon after announcement of poll results, sporadic incidents of violence reported in many parts of the state and in many incidents house properties were damaged along with ransacking of motorbikes, rubber gardens etc.
Sources said that large-scale violent activities were initiated by unruly Tipra-Motha supporters in different parts of the state even they attacked the SDM office of Santirbazar in South Tripura during counting of votes for Julaibari and Santirbazar assembly constituencies.
Sources said that hundreds of Motha supporters with sticks raided the SDM office and started massive destruction and also attacked BJP supporters. Resulting in at least 12 persons suffering injuries. Later, central forces and police resorted to lathi-charge and dispersed the attackers.
Sources said that Motha supporters at a time had also entered inside the office complex.
The violence started after counting of votes for third round for Santirbazar seat and when, the final round of counting completed for Julaibari seat, unruly Motha supporters entered into the office complex due negligence of the security forces.
In another incident Motha workers ransacked a party office of BJP at the Bypass of Bishalgarh and had also injured one BJP supporter.
After announcement of poll results for Krishnapur assembly constituency, miscreants started a massive attack at Chakmaghat market and started ransacking of shops, vehicles. When, BJP candidate Bikash Debbarma won the seat, miscreants owing allegiance with Tipra-Motha started stone pelting targeting the BJP office at Chakmaghat and had also ransacked the office.
After the incident was reported, SDPO (Teliamura) Prasun Tripura with CRPF jawans rushed to the spot and miscreants started stone-pelting targeting security forces and had also attacked SDPO. Miscreants have also injured Prasun Tripura and his security guards. Tripura suffered head injuries and was shifted to hospital with his guards, who also suffered injuries.
Similar incidents of violence Khowai, many parts of capital city Agartala including from Pratapgarh and 6-Agartala constituencies, where miscreants had attacked many houses in Aralia area under East Agartala police station and had also destroyed household properties.
Reports said, there are few incidents of hurling crude bombs in a few spots targeting houses of opposition supporters.
