Bharat Ratna club secretary murder: Court ordered forensic test of recovered pistol
Admitting the argument of defense lawyers, a local court of Agartala has ordered for forensic test form outside of state of recovered firearms and three live rounds, which allegedly used to shot club secretary of Bharat Ratna Sangha of Usha Bazar, Durga Prasanna Deb alias Viki, who was shot dead on April 30 night.
Giving details, senior advocate Samrat Kar Bhowmik, defense lawyer of one of the arrested accused Rakesh Barman said that the investigating team of Airport police station on Saturday before the court claimed that they managed to recover the fire arms, a pistol and three live rounds, used in the shutout to kill Viki as per the confessional statement of arrested accused Rakesh . Police also informed the court, they recovered the pistol and 3 live rounds from a crematorium area under Durga Bari tea estate.
Defense lawyer Samrat Kar Bhowmik claimed that it’s a false statement by police and they as per their scripted story showed the recovery of arms, which is only an old and rusted pistol and police forcefully had taken the signature of Rakesh Barman in the seizure list.
“We demanded before the court that the forensic test of the so-called recovered arms should be tested from a forensic institute outside of Tripura,” said Kar Bhowmik and added that the court has also granted their appeals and order for a forensic test of the recovered pistol.
