BJP confident to get majority
BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee expressed his full confidence over the returning to power with more seats and congratulated the people of the state for coming out in large numbers to cast their vote.
However, the party is worried with the polling in the hilly areas where according to them the Tipra-Motha workers unleashed massive violence, attacked their workers including the IPFT candidate at Asharambari constituency though the party is happy with the polling in other parts of the state.
Party spokesman Subrata Chakraborty stated they are confident of a victory but drew the attention of the Election commission about the irregularities done by TIPRA Motha and in some cases the CPI(M) and Congress. He said the election pattern clearly indicates that the people of the state have not accepted the CPI(M)-congress alliance and their party workers also rejected it.
He expressed satisfaction that the people in large numbers came out and casted votes and said the mood of the voters clearly indicates that BJP is returning to power with more seats. The atmosphere in the party offices also was jubilant.
Chakraborty specially mentioned the incident at Golaghati where the Motha workers captured 3/4 booths. In many other places they prevented the voters from going to the polling stations. BJP polling agents also were not allowed to go inside in many places.
He said in Hrishyamukh and Belonia the CPI(M) workers prevented the voters from going to polling stations. He said the party has informed the Election Commission about all the developments and expects some action will be taken.
