BJP national convention: A 144-member delegation from Tripura leaves for New Delhi
Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, altogether 144 BJP delegations including all top leaders of Tripura unit leave the state for New Delhi to participate in the BJP’s national convention to be held on February 17 and 18 at New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan.
This will be the ruling party’s mega poll preparation exercise ahead of the crucial 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, which are likely to take place this year.
BJP National president JP Nadda will preside over the meetings where discussions on the party’s strategy, agendas and poll review will be held. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also attend the convention.
The inaugural session of this two-day convention will begin on February 17 at 3 pm and the session will conclude on the second day with PM Modi’s address. The BJP national convention will outline the party’s political strategy for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls and around 11,500 delegates are expected to join the convention from across the country this year.
While, speaking with media persons ahead of departure from the Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport (Agartala airport) , BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya said that the BJP’s national president JP Nadda called national convention for overall preparation of the party for coming Lok Sabha elections in mind.
He said that delegates from across the country would join the convention including all BJP ruled state Chief Ministers, ministers, MPs and MLAs along with office bearers and other senior leaders of the party.
He added that the bugle for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections would be sounded from the convention with the slogan ‘Phir Se Ek Bar, Modi Sarkar (Modi government for one more time)’.
Bhattacharjee said that the 144 Tripura delegation including Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, all the cabinet ministers,MPs, MLAs, Morcha presidents , state committee leaders and office bearers will join the convention from February 17. He also said that after the two days convention, the strategies finalized by party leaders, the Tripura unit of BJP will start its massive campaign across the state to ensure massive victory in both Lok Sabha seats of the state.
Sources said that Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, former deputy chief minister Jishnu Dev Varma, MP Rebati Tripura and Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor Dipak Majumder were part of the delegation and also left for New Delhi on Friday evening.
