BJP’s ‘Karyakarini Baithak’ in Charilam: Party in Tripura united, says Dr Manik Saha after Biplab's comment over 'outsider interference'
The BJP in Tripura was united and no question could be raised on it, said Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha a day after his predecessor Biplab Kumar Deb alleged "outsiders" were interfering in the party affairs and weakening its organization.
Addressing a press conference after the ‘Karyakarini Baithak’ (executive committee meeting) of the party held at Charilam in Sepahijala district on Monday, Dr Saha said sometimes troubles yield up within a family but those are resolved by its guardians.
During the press conference outside the meeting hall the Chief MinisterDr Manik Saha was asked about the rift within the party and the former chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb commented on "Outsiders influence on the party". “I would not comment on the remarks made by others on any issue ; all I can say is that the party is united as ever from ‘Prishtha Pramukh' level to state leadership level and will move from strength to strength” said Dr Saha.
The meeting has chalked out a month-long programme to celebrate the 9-year completion of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. It is virtually the launching of the party’s campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha election as the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said the main target is to present two lotuses from the state to Modi ji.
The month-long programmes include two-major public meetings in two Lok Sabha areas and establishing contact with all sections of the people apart from a door-to-door program.
BJP sources said that Monday’s programme was a grand success as out of 183 invitees 180 were present and the Chief Minister stressed most on two aspects for the government. These are the drug free Tripura and transparency.
The main aim is to give two lotuses to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Lok Sabha election2024 and with this motto the Chief Minister and BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee had detailed discussion in the Karyakarini meeting organized at Charilam Higher Secondary School. The leaders discussed various strategies so that they can win in the upcoming elections and the importance of booth empowerment was also highlighted in this meeting.
The Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha talked about the importance of Lok Sabha election and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's nine years in office.
While addressing the press conference, Dr Saha said that the focus of leaders of the party was on the Lok Sabha election. He also said BJP organizes State Karyakarini meeting every year but this time various discussions took place on different other subjects as well. They are working to strengthen 3328 booths with an aim to win. There were discussions on the current political condition and activities of other political parties as well.
The Chief Minister has also expressed his gratitude towards the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for working tirelessly for the development of common people as various beneficiary schemes were introduced by him. He also said that various programmes should be organized so that common people can become aware about various centrally sponsored schemes for the benefit of people. He was also thankful to PM Narendra Modi because of the HIRA Model as the state is witnessing massive developments under Act East policy. He added that it was unimaginable that there would be such a large number of national highways, more than 10 express trains, and there is the third strongest internet gateway in the state.
He also said that the state government follows the direction shown by PM Narendra Modi. An elaborate discussion took place on how to strengthen the party's organisation in the 3,328 booths in the state, Dr Saha said and when asked if there were any talks about alliances for the Lok Sabha elections in the state, he said it was discussed but the details could not be made public.
During the state executive meeting, former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, MP Rebati Tripura, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik and state cabinet ministers Ratan Lal Nath, Pranajit Singha Roy, Sushanta Chowdhury, Tinku Roy and all other senior BJP leaders and Karyakartas were present in the meeting.
