Border Guard organizes blood donation camp to mark Diamond Jubilee BSF Day
As part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Border Security Force (BSF) Day, a blood donation camp was organized at the BSF Frontier Headquarters in the Salbagan area of Agartala on Sunday.
The camp was inaugurated by Aloke Kumar Chakraborty, Inspector General (IG) of BSF Tripura Frontier, by lighting the ceremonial lamp in the presence of Dr. S.P. Yadav, DIG (Medical), Composite Hospital BSF Agartala, and Dr. (Mrs.) Suchandra Dey, DIG (Medical), BSF Frontier Headquarters, Tripura.
Leading by example, the IG himself donated blood. Officers, subordinate officers and jawans posted at the BSF Salbagan camp enthusiastically participated in the event, contributing a total of 100 units of blood.
Earlier, as part of the Diamond Jubilee BSF Day celebrations, similar blood donation camps were organized on November 27 and 28, 2025, at BSF Camp Bagma, Sector Headquarters BSF Udaipur, and BSF Camp Nalakata under the Panisagar Sector, respectively.
Addressing the media, the IG said that since its raising in 1965, the BSF has always maintained a human face while performing its primary duty of guarding the nation’s borders. He added that besides safeguarding the country’s sovereignty, the force gives importance to humanitarian service and the welfare of the people.
Considering the scarcity of blood during major emergencies, BSF Seema Praharis pledged to contribute through blood donation during the Diamond Jubilee year for the benefit of the people of Tripura.
Committed to serving humanity, the BSF is not only the “first line of defence” but also the first responder in times of crisis.
