Border Guards detained, 3 more Bangladesh, 5 Indian for illegal entry and exfiltration
Amidst continuous and strong surveillance in entire stretch of India-Bangladesh along with Tripura after unrest in Bangladesh to stop any attempt infiltration by Bangladeshi anti-social elements, three more Bangladesh nationals were detained by Border Guards and five more Indian, when they tried to exfiltrate to Bangladesh from different border areas of Tripura.
After unrest in Bangladesh, the infiltration by Bangladeshi, Rohingyas into Tripura unabated, but vigilant security forces in maximum cases managed to arrest them after they entered Indian territory.
BSF through a press statement on Saturday, based on specific information, three Bangladesh nationals were apprehended in the area of Border Out-Post (BOP) Mohanpur under West Tripura district by BSF Quick Reaction Team (QRT) , while they were trying to infiltrate into Indian territory . The apprehended persons are residents of the Dhaka and Chapainawabganj districts of Bangladesh.
On Sunday afternoon, based on specific information, the Border Guards detained five more Indian national (including 1 minor) by troops of BOP Harnakhola under West Tripura district while they were trying to exfiltrate to Bangladesh. All detained Indian nationals are members of one family and resident of South Ramnagar area of Agartala.
In addition BSF troops under Tripura Frontier seized 2000 pieces of Yaba tablets, 146 kg Ganja, 350 kg Sugar, 225 bottles of Phensedyl and other contrabands worth Rs. 35 Lakh in the past 48-hours.
BSF added that they have stepped up domination and operation along the border in Tripura to prevent infiltration and exfiltration and trans-border crime.
It may be recalled here that the bordering Tripura, which is a top hotspot travelling destination for human trafficking, specially for Rohingyas and Bangladesh nationals, who were illegally entered into Indian territory and moves towards other parts of the country through different means of surface communication with help of Indian and Bangladeshi touts and traffickers, but many time, the alert security forces have also managed to detain them.
A Border Security Force (BSF) spokesman said that the paramilitary forces are cracking down heavily on the illegal migration by Bangladeshi nationals and have stepped up the vigil in close coordination with sister agencies in the border area.
Following the direction of Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, the BSF has stepped up its drive against illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and all field formations are actively breaking down the nexus of touts in the bordering areas.
Officials said that all the Bangladeshis and Rohingyas illegally entered Tripura to board trains or buses to go to other states in India “in search of jobs”.
