Brown Sugar worth of Rs. 30 lakh seized from Sidhai
Based on secret information, police on Friday recovered a huge quantity of Brown Sugar from bordering Tarapur village under Sidhai police station of West Tripura district.
Giving details, OC of Sidhai police station, Mangesh Patari said that based on specific information, police raided the house of one suspected drug smuggler, Surajit Nag at Tarapur village and sensing police raid, the accused managed to escape from the spot. During the search, police recovered 800 grams of Brown Sugar, worth of Rs. 30 lakh approximately from his house and has registered a specific case of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against Surajit Nag and his son Suman Nag.
He added that police have also launched a search operation to arrest both father and son.
