Central forces to start arriving by December end, CEO
The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Tripura, Kiran Gitte after returning from New Delhi has conducted a preparatory meeting for the induction of Central Paramilitary Forces during the ensuing Assembly Elections 2023.
Official sources said that the meeting was attended by State Police Nodal Officer IGP, G.S. Rao, IG (CRPF), secretary of Transport department, Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs amongst others.
Sources said that it is expected that the first batch of Central Armed ParaMilitary Forces (CAPF) will arrive in the last week of December, 2022 next by Railways. The Railway authorities are asked to prepare the Railway stations to be ready for receiving the paramilitary forces in all district headquarters.
The CEO has also instructed all DMs to provide vehicles for transportation, accommodation facilities and other logistics support to all CAPFs and the Transport Department will assist the DMs for arrangement of vehicles. The Food department will take the responsibility for provision of LPG cylinders and other food products for the paramilitary Forces.
The CEO has also issued an order that the Health department will provide free medical services to CAPFs at all the Hospitals and Primary Health Centres (PHCs) during their stay while discharging election related duties.
The CEO also asked all DMs and SPs to prepare deployment plans for the Central Para Military Forces so that elections are held in a peaceful manner, said sources.
