CM acknowledges Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s contribution in safeguarding national integrity
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha emphasized the significant contribution of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee in safeguarding the integrity of the country during an event commemorating the 123rd birth anniversary of the legendary figure.
The event, organized by the Information and Cultural Affairs Department of the Government of Tripura, took place at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan on Thursday.
“Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee was one of the legendary figures in the history of India, and his role in protecting the integrity of the country was immense. Although he remained relatively unknown to many people until recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after assuming office in 2014, brought Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee's work profile into the limelight,”, he said.
In his inaugural address, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of the new generation being aware of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee's contributions to the country's integrity during times of political and economic crises.
He further added, "The new generation should be aware of his tireless fight against injustice throughout his life. His approach was to protest against injustice, and if that didn't work, he advocated for retribution. Unfortunately, these aspects of Dr. Mukherjee's life are not widely known by the new generation."
The Chief Minister emphasized that the country should be given top priority because without a strong nation, individuals cease to exist.
“Under the leadership of the current Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, India has reached new heights on the global stage. Other countries now pay attention to India, and this has been made possible only because of the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He shares the ideals and ideas of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, and is leading the country towards progress," he stated.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the perpetual need for unity in building and protecting the country, a principle deeply ingrained in Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee's ideology.
“If the country is not strengthened, neighbouring states will repeatedly assert their dominance. In that regard, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is tirelessly working to bolster the country. A new India is now being established under his leadership," said CM Saha.
On this day, the Chief Minister and other distinguished guests visited the drawing exhibition. Present at the event were Retired Professor Dr. Jagadish Ganchoudhury of MBB College, Dr. PK Chakraborty, Secretary of the ICA Department, Director Bimbisar Bhattacharya, and others.
