CM declares 3% hike in DA, DR ahead of Durga Puja

In a major relief for government employees and pensioners, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today announced a 3% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR).

Addressing the final day of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister said that this Durga Puja, government employees and pensioners will receive a special gift in the form of a 3% increase in DA and DR, which will be effective from October 1, 2025.

Dr Saha stated that the state government will spend an additional Rs 125 crore for this purpose.

He said that the decision is expected to benefit thousands of government employees and retired personnel across Tripura.

Later, Dr. Saha said, “This government is employee-friendly. We aim to support not only employees but everyone. Earlier, after I took office, a 29% hike was given, and today we have announced an additional 3%. Despite financial constraints, we have declared this increase. To provide even a 1% hike, around Rs 100 crore is required. This step will be helpful for every employee and will serve as a special Durga Puja gift.”
