Launch of three-day state-level training of Master Trainers on early childhood care, education

Focusing on “Early Childhood Care and Education” in the field of pre-primary education, the Pre-Primary Section under the Directorate of Elementary Education inaugurated a three-day state-level training of Master Trainers on September 23rd at the auditorium of Shishu Bihar Higher Secondary School in Agartala.

The inaugural session was graced by the presence of Rajib Dutta, Director of the Elementary Education, Smt. Harshita Biswas, Joint Director, Elementary Education, Abhijit Samajpati, Branch Officer of the Pre-Primary Section, DEE and Sujit Chakraborty, Principal of Shishu Bihar Higher Secondary School.

In this training program, a total of 56 Block Resource Persons (BRPs) and Cluster Resource Persons (CRPs) from eight districts will receive hands-on training based on the module developed on “Early Childhood Care and Education.” as an innovative initiative of pre primary cell, DEE. Later, these trainees will serve as Master Trainers to train pre-primary teachers across every block in the state.

In the inaugural speech Director highlighted the importance of not only academics but also the physical and mental development of children at the pre-primary level. Therefore, special training for teachers at this level is essential. He mentioned that currently there are 236 pre-primary schools in the state, and the number has been increasing in recent years. Hence, the department’s primary objective is to enhance teachers’ skills in every school to ensure quality education.

Joint Director in her address mentioned that 352 pre-primary teacher posts have already been approved by the State Cabinet, and steps have been initiated through TRBT (Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura) for appointments. Through this training workshop, the Master Trainers will later work to strengthen the skills of those newly appointed teachers as well. She also urged the BRPs and CRPs to emphasize the use of TLMs (Teaching-Learning Materials) and playful learning methods during classroom inspections.

Delivering the welcome address, Branch Officer Abhijit Samajpati encouraged all participants to take this training session seriously. He expressed that over the next three days, participants should gain a comprehensive understanding of the pre-primary education system and effective teaching for children. He further added that the training module has been designed by resource persons with grassroots-level experience in pre-primary education, making it an innovative and effective initiative of the Pre-Primary Cell.

The program was presided over by Principal Sujit Chakraborty, who elaborated on the importance of child-centric pedagogy in his speech.

Academic leaders of the Pre-Primary Section will act as resource persons and conduct training sessions over the next three days.
