Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday inspected various locations in Tripura for the 72nd Plenary Session of the North East Council (NEC), which is set to take place for the first time on December 21st.

He said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to arrive for the event on December 20.

Dr Saha visited the Ujjayanta Palace and Pragya Bhavan to review the preparations for the event and issued necessary instructions to the officials present.

Speaking to the media, Dr Saha said, "The 72nd Plenary Session of the North East Council (NEC) will be held in Tripura. A special event is being arranged at Ujjayanta Palace, and we inspected the work and preparations here, along with the officials. We have also reviewed arrangements at the venue of the plenary session. NEC Chairman and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive on December 20th, and the session will take place on the 21st."

He also mentioned that the North Eastern-Space Applications Centre (NE-SAC) meeting would be held during this time.

“This is truly significant news. Apart from Home Minister Shah, Union DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, and Governors of the Northeast will attend. Discussions on the development and various projects in the region will take place. It is indeed a proud moment for us,” he said.

Regarding his recent meeting with Reliance Industries Chairman and MD Mukesh Ambani, Dr. Saha said, “During my recent Maharashtra visit for oath-taking ceremony, I met Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani and his son Anant Ambani. I invited them to visit Tripura, and we had a long discussion. They have shown a keen interest and have expressed their desire to come to Tripura. A team from Reliance will visit soon. The discussions were very positive, and we are hopeful about their visit.”
