CM lauds BJYM, BJP Mohila Morcha for electoral victory in Tripura
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Sunday lauded the role of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) for their key role in helping the BJP to form the government for the second term in the state.
Addressing Karyakartas Sanmanana of BJYM at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, Chief Minister Dr Saha said, “Because of Yuva Morcha we feel confident of doing any work. BJYM has worked tirelessly during the Covid-19 pandemic and also worked for blood donation and making the state Nesha Mukta Tripura”.
The Chief Minister also praised the role of BJYM workers and its leaders for their key role in the recently held election in forming the government for the second term.
The Tripura government provided huge funds to self-help groups, which helped the BJP get more votes from women in the last assembly election, said Dr Saha and added that the party's Mohila Morcha did "wonders" in the last elections in mobilizing female voters.
"The BJP-IPFT government provided huge funds to women through self-help groups (SHGs). It resulted in 3 percentage points more female voters casting their votes for the BJP in comparison to male voters," he said.
"The Yuva Morcha has always been a fighting force for the party -- be it elections or the pandemic. We feel secure as Yuva Morcha is always behind the government and the party," he said.
Maintaining that Tripura has a bright future, the chief minister said new industries were coming up in the state. “In the recently held election, many people hatched a conspiracy just to defeat our party but because of the Yuva Morcha workers, leaders of BJP formed again for the second term of government. Because of the BJYM, it was possible to form the government again”, said CM.
Chief Minister Dr Saha also praised the leaders and workers of BJP Mahila Morcha for their performance in the recently held election and said, “Because of BJP Mahila Morcha’s tireless work our party got 3% extra vote from women voters. Our government has been working for the women and for this, they have understood that only this double-engineered government can give them freedom”.
During the program, the Chief Minister said that the CPIM is now reeling under the severe crisis of youths. “You will find that CPIM is now reeling under a severe scarcity of youth power. Only a section of old people are there. Youth are not with CPIM now as they are now connecting with BJP after understanding the philosophy of Dr Shayma Prasad Mookherjee. Today’s youth is tomorrow’s future”, said CM Dr Saha.
"I have urged the lawmakers to live together in the newly-built hostel because I believe we have another life apart from politics. The bond among the MLAs will get stronger if we all stay together. Don't know why they CPI(M)) treat us like untouchables!"
He also flagged how people forcefully collected permits for buses and jobs during the CPIM and Congress’s regime. “There was a culture during the CPIM and Congress regime that whenever anybody wants to join politics they want a job or any other profits. But in our party, we are working to provide jobs to each and every one. If Yuva Morcha is the future then they have to work on how they can be a great leader in the coming days”, he said.
The CM also slammed the TIPRA Motha party for bringing a section of students back to Tripura from Manipur.
In the assembly elections held in February, the BJP bagged 33 seats in the 60-member House, while the opposition Tipra Motha got 13 seats, the CPI (M) won 11 seats and the Congress got three seats.
