Congress’ Maligaon march, submits memo to GM, NFR

As scheduled, the Tripura Pradesh Congress demanding expansion of railway and a separate division for Tripura has submitted a memorandum before the General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) in Maligaon, Guwahati on Monday.

Pradesh Congress president and MLA Birajit Sinha accompanied by party MLA Gopal Chandra Roy speaking with media persons at the outside of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) headquarters in Maligaon said that about one hundred Congress workers and leaders  in support of their demands including an alternative railway link connecting Dharmanagar-Kailasahar-Kamalpur-Khowai-Agartala-Sonamura-Sabroom and a separate railway division for Tripura, submitted a memorandum before the GM of NFR  after deputation.

He said  that Tripura has been deprived of railway connectivity and majority of the Indian states have railway connectivity by connecting their district headquarters, but in the case of Tripura till today many of the district headquarters were not connected with railway link.

He said that the GM of NFR passionately heard their grievances and demands and assured them that they will take these issues to an appropriate forum to fulfill the demands of the state's people. Sinha added that Congress are very much hopeful that the Railway will fulfill the long pending demands of Tripura’s people and connect all the district headquarters of the state by railway network.
