The District Congress, Youth Congress, and NSUI in Unakoti organized a protest demonstration in Kailashahar on Sunday, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over allegations of question paper leaks and irregularities in the NEET-UG 2026 examination.
The protest was held as part of the nationwide “Chhatron Ki Goonj” campaign. A rally began from the District Congress office and marched through the main streets of Kailashahar before reaching the Kailashahar Municipal Council premises, where demonstrators burned an effigy of the Union Education Minister.
Following the protest, a live address by Rahul Gandhi was streamed on an LED screen outside the District Congress office.
The programme was attended by Unakoti District Congress president Mohammad Badruzzaman, Kailashahar MLA and Congress Legislature Party leader Birajit Sinha, Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress District president Juber Ahmed Khan, District General secretary Abhijit Shil, Kailashahar Block Youth Congress President Shahjahan Miah, Chandipur Block Youth Congress president Akhtar Hossain, along with several other party leaders and workers.
Speaking to the media, Mohammad Badruzzaman said that, under the direction of the Indian National Congress, the Congress, Youth Congress, and NSUI were jointly conducting protests across the country against the alleged examination paper leak. He alleged that the incident had jeopardised the future of lakhs of students and asserted that the Union Education Minister should accept moral responsibility and resign.
He also announced that the Congress would launch a nationwide 40-day awareness and agitation campaign from June 30 over the issue. A large turnout of party workers and supporters was witnessed during the protest programme.
