Congress to support CPI (M) candidates in by-polls to strengthen I.N.D.I.A
In order to strengthen the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A), comprising 28 anti-BJP parties, the Congress in Tripura will support the candidates of INDIA alliance in the September 5th by-polls.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday afternoon at Congress Bhavan, Pradesh Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha accompanied by senior leader and MLA Sudip Roy Barman said that the leaders of Congress along with opposition Tipra-Motha and CPI(M) had a meeting after announcement of by-polls and to finalise a strategy to stop the division of anti-BJP votes.
Without mentioning the name of CPI(M), Ashish Saha said that 28 parties of the country under the leadership of Congress has unanimously decided to fight against BJP in coming general elections unitedly to ensure defeat of BJP and as part I.N.D.I.A alliance, the Pradesh Congress has decided and asked all party supporters and workers to cast their votes in favour of alliance candidates both in Boxanagar and Dhanpur assembly constituencies.
Saha hoped that voters of both constituencies would ensure the defeat of BJP candidates to strengthen the fight against the anti-people government.
Saha, through his scathing attacks on BJP governments both in central and state claimed that the miseries of common people are increasing day by day and in Tripura, the six years old BJP government in Tripura in the name of good governance are only looting the state.
He also claimed that the law and order situation is deteriorating day by day and the unemployment rate is increasing in the state. Saha added that Pradesh Congress will launch statewide agitation against misrule of BJP government in coming days.
While, during the press meet, the present vice-president of Tripura unit of Trinamool Congress (TMC), Nilkamal Saha and general secretary of TMC, Debabrata Deb joined Congress and party leaders welcomed them with Congress flag.
