CPI (M)-Motha seat adjustment meeting on Wednesday, final deal before withdrawal
After submission of nomination papers by all political parties, the possible seat adjustment with Tipra-Motha along with CPI (M) and Congress are gaining momentum after initiatives of a fresh meeting before withdrawal of nomination papers.
CPI(M) state secretary Jitendra Chowdhury in a election rally on Tuesday in Sabroom said that the discussion over seat adjustment is not only going on with Congress, the fresh talk with the supremo of Tipra-Motha is also going on.
Giving details, Chowdhury said that Motha has so far file nomination papers in 42 assembly seats, but on Tuesday morning Pradyot Kishore Debbarma called him and wished that the victory from Sabroom seat is also ensure as all Motha supporters will cast their vote in favour of CPI(M) candidate.
Pradyot also said that many people have asked him why not Tipra-Motha fielded candidate in Sabroom seat and in reply, Pradyot said I cannot file candidate against Jitendra Chowdhury.
Chowdhury said then he requested him if they win from Sabroom seat, it will not be enough to ensure the defeat of BJP in coming elections. He also urged Pradyot that CPI (M) wanted for seat adjustment with Tipra-Motha also.
Chowdhury said that the Motha chief has requested him to give some time and take a decision for which seats they will withdraw their candidate and CPI(M) have to support the strong candidates of Tipra-Motha.
Chowdhury said that there was a scheduled meeting among the leaders of CPI(M) and Tipra-Motha, but due to hectic schedules of campaigning and scrutiny, the proposed meeting has been postponed and it will be held on Wednesday evening. He said that the leaders of both parties are very optimistic and will finalize their seat adjustment before February 2nd(day of withdrawal of nomination papers).
