CPI (M) staged mass protest against alleged corruption in government departments

Opposition CPI (M) on Thursday organized a mass protest rally in Agartala condemning alleged corruption under the BJP led government.
A rally of CPI (M) workers, supporters and their leaders under the West Tripura district committee of the party started from the Melarmath area of the city on Thursday afternoon and after passing through various thoroughfares of the city ended at Paradise Chowmuhani, where party leaders addressed the gathering.
Speaking in the gathering, CPI(M) West Tripura district committee’s secretary Ratan Das demanded immediate action against corrupt practices claiming that large-scale corruption is going on in different departments of the state government including in Education, Forestry.
He claimed that without bribery no citizens of the state are unable to get any government services.
He alleged that due to the reluctant attitude of the state government, drug trafficking are now flourishing across the state and for drug abuse, the future of the youths of Tripura are in dark.
He also criticized Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and claimed that he turned his eyes blind and Chief Minister himself accountable for deteriorating law and order situation and rampant corrupt practices.
He also said that the entire administration of Autonomous District Council (ADC) is plunged into gross corruption and people of the hills are suffering tremendous hardship.
