A dispute over the weighing of food grains at the Food Corporation of India (FCI) godown in Dharmanagar escalated into a violent clash on Saturday, leaving two persons injured.

According to sources, the incident took place at the FCI godown located in the Botorshi area of Dharmanagar when a heated argument broke out between a truck driver, identified as Rajib Ali, and the technical in-charge of the godown over discrepancies in the weighing of food grains.

The argument soon turned violent, with the truck driver allegedly abusing an FCI employee and later attacking FCI workers with an iron rod. In response, FCI security personnel engaged in a scuffle with two truck drivers, including Rajib Ali and another identified as Sainul Islam.

Following the incident, police personnel rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. The injured persons were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Sources further stated that a complaint and a counter-complaint have been lodged at the Dharmanagar Police Station in North Tripura district, with both parties accusing each other of instigating the clash.
