Efforts by police improved people’s confidence, law and order situation, CM
Praising the efforts and relentless services of police administration for improving law and order situation, chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said that the confidence of the state's people over rule and duties of police personnel have increased.
While, addressing the Tripura police week parade-2023 at AD Nagar police ground and after the award ceremony for best achievers in different segments of the state police on Friday morning, Chief Minister Dr Saha urged the police personnel of the state to maintain their responsibility towards people of the state to gain more faith and trust.
He said that the good images of the state reflected through the activities of police and their efforts to maintain law and order. He also said that as per the statistics of crime data, different kinds of crime rate has been decreased in the state and Tripura now 5th least crime rate state of the country as the data released by the National Crime Records Bureau in 2021 shows.
He said the state at present has 8 women police stations and a 24-hours women help desk has been introduced for protection of women. He also appreciated the rule of TSR jawans for their services and success of police administration to achieve the goal of drug-free Tripura. Dr Saha also urged the people of the state to participate in the election process and voting in festival mode by maintaining peace and tranquility.
After taking the salutes of police and TSR platoons during parade, Dr Saha also awarded police personnel for their meritorious services and the ‘lifetime achiever of Tripura police of the year-2022’ has been handed over to retired additional SP(TPS Grade-I) Pradyot Bhaumik, former vice-principal of police training academy.
The award for best clerical staff of the year-2022 from TSR battalions has been given to Nayab Subedhar (clerk) Anjan Majumder of 1st battalion TSR, best clerical staff from civil police units will be given to LD clerk Rajib Singha of SP(Procurement).
The best investigator of the year-2022 award will be awarded to SDPO (Khowai) Rajib Sutradhar and the policeman of the year-2022 will be awarded to Dulal Chandra Datta, Dy. SP(DIB) of South Tripura district.
The Khowai police station has been named as best police station in the use of technology for the year-2022 and Birganj police station has been named as best police station for the beat system, while New Capital Complex police station has been named for ‘best police station of the year-2022’.
Unakoti district has been named for Best district for beat system and Cyber Crime unit of Crime Branch has been named for best unit for Tripura police in the use of technology for the year-2022. The 12th battalion of TSR has been chosen as best TSR battalion and South Tripura district has been named as best district for the year-2022. Meanwhile, the state police have announced the names of 59 police personnel for DGP’s Commendation disc-2022.
During the police week parade, DGP Amitabh Ranjan and other top officials of the department were also present.
