Finance approved 41,949 govt posts, 24,033 jobs already given, ICA Minister
The finance department of the state government till December 16 has given concurrence for 41,949 government jobs during the last five years, said Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) Minister Sushanta Chowdhury.
Addressing a press conference here at Civil Secretariat on Thursday afternoon and replying distorted statistics by opposition parties against the state government, Chowdhury said that after formation of present state government, the Finance department has given concurrence for 41,949 government posts including regular, fixed-pay, die-in-harness, contractual and through out-sourcing and among the sanctioned posts by Finance department, the state government so far has given appointment to 24,033 persons till December 16, 2022.
He said that among the approved posts 17,687 are for ‘regular’ posts, die-in-harness 1,329, contractual posts are 8,013, out-sourcing 5,879, special executives under Home department 6,000, TET teachers 3,000, 1000 police constables are in pipeline.
As per the data got from the Finance department, the previous state government has only given 13,657 government jobs from 2013 to 2017, but the opposition parties are continuously misguiding the people of the state through their false statements against the government.
He reiterated that among approved 41,949 posts, already 24,033 persons are serving for the state government through regular, fixed pay, contractual and out-sourcing jobs and the rest are in pipeline.
He also appealed to the people of the state not to be confused over the false statements of the opposition parties and has also appealed to all opposition parties to verify the facts before any statement.
