First plenary session of Tipra-Motha begins at Khumwlung
The two-days first plenary session of Tipra-Motha started on Saturday at Syndicate Ground in Khumwlung, the headquarters of ADC to finalize the future course of action of the party. Chairman of the party Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, President Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawl and all other senior leaders including the leader of the opposition in the state assembly Animesh Debbarma, ADC chairman Jagadish Debbarma, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of ADC, Purna Chandra Jamatia were present.
Motha through a press statement said that thousands of party supporters from all over the state are attending the session which aims at restructuring and strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
The first plenary session of Tipra-Motha is assumed very significant as it is being held after failure of the dialogue between the Union Government and the Motha chairman Pradyot Bikram over appointment of interlocutor .
Recently, after having a meeting with the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Pradyot told the reporters that the centre has appointed an interlocutor to negotiate the issues raised by Motha but that interlocutor did not arrive at the state so far.
Sources said that Pradyot Kishore wanted to give a new dimension to the party in the ongoing plenary session . Sources added that Motha leaders will discuss in detail the future course of action over the coming by-election for Dhanpur assembly constituency, two seats of Autonomous District Council (ADC) and next Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
