Five drug peddlers with a woman arrested
The Agartala city on Thursday in two raids arrested five drug peddlers including a woman and recovered large quantities of Yaba tablets and Brown Sugar under their possession.
SDPO (Amtali) Ashish Dasgupta said that based on specific information, a contingent of police personnel from Amtali police station raided at a fast food shop of one Dilwar Hussain in Motinagar area and recovered 10 packets of Yaba tablets contains with 2000 tablets , worth of Rs. 2 lakh and arrested Dilwar Hussain and another drug peddler identified as Nayab Ali under NDPS Act case.
Police sources said that based on secret information in another raid by NCC police station at Goyala Basti area and during the raid at the house one Kala Devi, police recovered two cases of Brown Sugar weighing 12 grams, which has market value of Rs 2 lakh.
Police added that Kala Devi along with youths, locally known as drug peddlers were arrested and they will be produced before a local court with police remand appeals for further interrogation to find out the nexus of drug peddlers.
