A person was allegedly kidnapped from his office premises during office hours on Monday, triggering swift action by the police after the incident came to light and police registered a suo motu case and launched an investigation into the matter.
During the course of the investigation, four persons were arrested in connection with the incident. However, police indicated that the alleged kidnapping was linked to a financial transaction or monetary dispute between the parties involved.
Speaking on the matter, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Debaprasad Roy said that the investigation is still underway and the kidnapped person has been released by kidnappers. He added that the identities and names of the four arrested accused have not been disclosed at this stage due to the ongoing probe. However, he confirmed that all four individuals are residents of Sepahijala district.
Police are continuing their investigation to ascertain the exact motive and circumstances behind the alleged kidnapping incident. All arrested four accused were produced before a local court with police remand appeals for further interrogation.
