Ganaraj Chowmuhani petrol pump closed for illegal petrol selling

Amid volatile global oil markets due to ‌the Iran war, the Subdivisional administration of Agartala on Saturday closed a fuel outlet and issued a show cause notice for selling petrol in plastic containers.

Sources said that Jyotsna Petroleum Agency, located at Ganaraj Chowmuhani area of Agartala on Friday sold petrol in plastic containers and the video of the incident became viral in social media channels, which is illegal and a bid to promote the black marketing of fuel products.

After the incident, a formal complaint has also been registered at the office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Sadar under West Tripura district and on Saturday a team of officials from SDM(Sadar) and Legal Metrology department raided at the Jyotsna Petroleum Agency and closed the fuel outlet for a certain period for illegal selling of petrol and issued a show cause notice against the owner of the fuel outlet.
