Govt determined to take Tripura a best of country, Governor
The present government Tripura is determined to take the state to new heights on the path of overall development and progress, said Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya in his address at the first session of the 13th Tripura Legislative Assembly on Friday.
Based on the outline of the visionary goal- 2047, this government is working relentlessly to make and convert the state into a developed and best state of the country. Citing reference to the priority sectors of his good governance, the Governor said that this state government is committed to making Tripura a model state in the country in terms of its development pace in the fields of Agriculture and its allied sectors, Industry, Law & Order including of other key administrative departments he added.
Congratulating the newly elected members of the assembly (MLAs) and the electors, the Governor also said that the people of the state are fond of democracy and they have immense faith and confidence in the fundamental principles and ideals of democracy. He highly appreciated the people for their active and massive participation in the festival of democracy held on February 16.2023. He said Democracy is deep-rooted in the country, the recently concluded assembly election of the state is the best example where people particularly the women voters of Tripura came in large and cast their votes which are 3% more than their male counterparts. It is also a matter of great pride to be mentioned here that the Tripura legislative assembly gets as many as eight female members to highlight a new dimension and precedent of women's empowerment to inspire others. He condoled the sudden demise of the veteran Tripuri leader and former Minister Narendra Chandra Debbarma and profoundly remembered his outstanding contributions to the welfare and development of ethnic people in the state. Governor Arya also greeted the Government of India for conferring Padma Shri Award to the late N C Debbarma posthumously.
