Govt has given priority for development of health infrastructure: CM
The government has given priority to provide better medical services in the district hospitals of the state and improving the infrastructure of the health centres, said Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.
The main objective of the government is to provide the best services in the field of health to the citizens of the state. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha said this while inaugurating 36th Annual Conference of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society at Golab Bagan in Agartala on December 24th last.
He said, earlier the doctors had to make demands on various issues to the government but now even before demanding or claiming anything, the Promotion of Doctors and Tripura Health Service Rules have been amended.
At the conference, the Chief Minister said that the main objective of the government is to serve the people. Earlier there were many referrals from the state but now referrals have reduced due to expansion of modern healthcare services. He said, being a doctor personally, he is aware of the advantages and disadvantages of doctors in the state. He said that gynaecologists performed their duties at great risk during Covid pandemic. Physicians should try to deal with the problems of patient efficiently as the doctors are God for patients, said Dr Saha.
Distinguished Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Dr. Debjyoti Kar was felicitated at the programme. MLA Dr. Dilip Das as guest of honour also spoke on the occasion. A souvenir was also released on the occasion and the chairman of the organizing committee Bappaditya Som gave the welcome speech.
Chairman of Agartala Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society Dr. Mangal Manik Debbarma also spoke among others.
