Govt’s ultimate goal is to make mothers self-dependent and benefits of various schemes changing lives of rural people: CM
The government is working taking various welfare plans for the people of the state and efforts are being made to deliver the benefits of different schemes of the central and state government to the people under ‘Prati Ghare Sushason’ (good governance at every household) campaign, said Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha after inaugurating Sepahijala District-Level ‘Sushason Mela and Lavarthi Sanmelan’ on Monday at Bishramganj HS School campus.
He said, Prati Ghare Sushason campaign will continue till December 25th next and the government is implementing developmental programs and providing government services fairly. Prior to inauguration of Sepahijala District-Level Sushason Mela and Lavarthi Sanmelan, the Chief Minister inaugurated the newly built office building of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the district in Bishramganj. It is to be noted that this two-storied office building has been built at the cost of 2 crore 58 lakh rupees.
The Chief Minister said, the present government’s ultimate goal is to make the mothers self- dependent. In this regard, the government has been working on different plans, giving more priority to making women of rural and urban areas self-dependent through Self-Help Groups (SHGs). He said, earlier there were 39 thousand 82 women in SHGs of the state in the year 2017-18. After the present government took over, the number has increased to 3.45 lakh. This shows that change has been brought to the state with respect to rural economic development and making women self-dependent.
Earlier there were 4 thousand 153 SHGs in the state in the year 2017-18. Now the number of SHGs has risen to 38 thousand 657 SHGs. In the year 2017-18, the SHGs were provided with a revolving fund of 32 crore 67 lakh rupees. After the present government came to power, the SHGs have been provided with a revolving fund of 347 crore 61 lakh rupees. Apart from that, many simplifications were done on providing loans to the SHGs.
The Chief Minister said, the state government is working for welfare of people of all sections of the society regardless of any party preference. The government is tirelessly working for the development of the state fighting against Covid-19 pandemic. The Chief Minister interacted with the members of SHG through video conferencing. The Chief Minister also handed over bank loan cheques worth 1 crore 39 lakh 7 thousand rupees to 64 SHGs of Sepahijala district in the programme. Apart from that, The Chief Minister handed over a Power Tiller to a farmer.
Jail Minister Ram Prasad Paul in the inaugural programme of Sepahijala District-Level Sushason Mela said, the present government aims to work for the people. The government is committed towards solving the problems of people of all sections. He said, benefits of government services and schemes are being provided to people through the Prati Ghare Sushason campaign. MLA Subhash Chandra Das, MLA Birendra Kishore Debbarma, social activists Gourango Bhoumik and Debabrata Bhattacharjee were present in the programme. The programme was presided over by Sabhadhipati of Sepahijala Zilla Parishad Supriya Das Datta. DM Vishwasree B was also present in the programme along with other dignitaries and different exhibition stalls were opened by different government departments and SHGs in the fair.
While, as part of his visit, the Chief Minister visited the house of a beneficiary, who received benefits of various schemes including Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (PMAY)- Gramin.
Anita Debnath is the beneficiary from Dhanpur constituency. In a tweet message, the Chief Minister said, "The benefits of various public welfare schemes are transforming the lives of rural people. Anita Debnath of Dhanpur in Sonamura is one of those beneficiaries. She has received the benefits of PMAY-Rural, free water & power connections, toilet, LPG connection & old-age allowance."
In a separate tweet, the Chief Minister said, the benefits of various schemes are now reaching out to the people even in remote corners."Under the leadership of Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji, Tripura is marching ahead. The benefits of various govt schemes are reaching out to the people and bringing smiles to them. Happy to interact with the beneficiary- Anita Debnath & her family during a programme today," he tweeted. The beneficiary and her family expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister for providing such benefits.
