Health camps in three districts received good responses, Biplab Kumar Deb
The health camps in three different districts of the state, organized by former Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb received tremendous success, where altogether 2,946 patients were given free treatment and necessary advises for their ailment by specialist doctors from country’s renowned hospitals.
Addressing a press conference MP Biplab Kumar Deb on Sunday afternoon at his official residence said that the health camps at Mohanpur, Khowai and Santirbazar in association with the Health department of the state government received tremendous response from a cross section of the society.
He said that eight specialist doctors from AIIMS, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Safdarjung Hospital, Max hospital and PGI of Chandigarh attended these health camps and had given their valuable treatments to the patients of the state along with state’s doctors.
Altogether 1186 patients had given free treatment at Mohanpur camp, 977 at Khowai and 763 more patients had also given free treatment and necessary advice by the specialist doctors at Santirbazar health camp.
Deb said that as per the decision of the party’s high command, all the MPs of the party have given directions to organize such health camps in their respective areas and based on the advice, he had detailed discussion with Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.
Later, the officials attached with MP had sought for permission from Chief Secretary of the state government, said Deb and replying a media quire said that without official permission, how the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and his teams had attended these health camps.
He said that since the formation of the BJP led government in Tripura, health services across the state have improved a lot and now patients of the state are getting the most sophisticated and modern health care services in the state.
The infrastructure and services in the GB Hospital have developed and now most advanced and sophisticated surgeries are being performed in the state’s main hospital, said Deb and added that under leadership of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha the basic services for people including health, food and education will get more impetus in coming days.
Deb also said that with participation of the country's renowned doctors, such medical camps will also be organized in other parts of the state to give them better treatment facilities.
