International Women's Day celebration: Women and men have equal rights in building society, Tinku Roy
In our country there are many women who are running the country. They are shining the name of the country. But women have to fight more to improve their socio-economic status and get their rights realized. Minister of Social Welfare and Social Education Tinku Roy said this while inaugurating the state-level International Women's Day programme organized at Muktadhara Auditorium in Agartala on Tuesday. This year the theme of International Women's Day is Digital: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality.
At the programme, Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy said that women and men have equal rights in building society. Women today are not only independent, but women are also leading the society. Today girl students are doing well in CBSE or UPSC. Women in the country are advancing day by day. Schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many schemes undertaken by the state government have prioritized women.
Special guest at the programme and Chairperson of Tripura Women's Commission Barnali Goswami said mothers are symbols of power. However, women have to come forward in the digital and technology field.
Besides, Tripura State Commission for Protection of Child Rights member Sharmila Chowdhury,
MBB College student Ankur Saha and student Bidhidha Bhattacharya spoke at the programme.
Secretary of Social Welfare and Social Education Department Tapas Roy gave the welcome speech. Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Deepak Majumdar was present at the programme.
Minister of Social Welfare and Social Education Tinku Roy gave awards to Dabaru Arshiya Das, who received the gold medal of PM Bal Purushkar in 2021 and Puhavi Chakraborty, who received the gold medal and memento for Field of Innovation from Social Welfare and Social Education ministry in 2022. Besides, Minister Sri Roy handed over mementos and certificates to entrepreneur Swapna Debnath,
Dudhalakshmi Debbarma, Savita Tripura, student of MBB College Ankur Saha and Bibidha Bhattacharya. These two students gave speeches on the occasion of International Women's Day. Meghbalika Bangla band artistes performed music on the occasion. Additional Director of Social Welfare and Social Education Department L Rahul gave Vote of Thanks.
