Loaded jeep dashed truck, driver died, two more injured

In a tragic road mishap, one goods carrying jeep driver died and two other sustained injuries, when the jeep dashed another loaded truck on Saturday midnight at the National Highway-8 portion of Dalura area of Khayerpour .

Police sources said that a coalition of both loaded jeep and truck, coming from Ambassa towards Agartala, firefighters rushed to the spot and shifted all injured persons to GB Hospital.

Police added that the good carrying jeep, loaded with board papers at heavy speed dashed at the back of another loaded truck and after crushed, the front portion of the jeep smashed and the driver, identified as Paritosh Debnath (28) suffered critical injuries.

In the wee hours of Sunday, injured driver Paritosh Debnath succumbed due to his critical injuries and two other persons boarded in the jeep, who suffered injuries, were released from the hospital after primary treatment.

On Sunday, the body of the deceased driver, who was survived by his wife and four years old daughter, was handed over to his relatives for last rites after post-mortem.
