Longtharai species extends its support to four promising athletes
In continuation of their yearlong social activities, Tripura’s renowned Annada Spices Industry (Longtharai Spices) on Tuesday felicitated four athletes of Tripura and handed over some financial support to them for their future national and international events.
Addressing a press conference at company’s RK Nagar factory on Tuesday afternoon at the outskirts of Agartala, Longtharai Spices’s Managing Director (MD) Ratan Debnath accompanied by four athletes has felicitated them and extended financial aid to these promising athletes gearing up for national and international competitions.
Among the beneficiaries were Paralympic swimmers Samir Barman and Binit Roy, slated to represent India in the upcoming "Citi Para Swimming World Series Championship" in Singapore from May 14-19, 2024. Both athletes had previously clinched gold and silver medals at the National Para Swimming Championship at Gwalior.
Mitali Debnath, another standout athlete, received support for her journey to the "World Master Athletics Gothenburg Championship-2024" in Sweden, scheduled from August 13-25, 2024. Mrs Debnath, who recently secured a gold medal for India at the Asian Master Sports Athletics 2023 in the Philippines, continues to make her state and nation proud.
Additionally, Aaradhya Das, a promising chess player, is set to compete in the Asian Youth Chess Championship-2024 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from June 9-21, 2024. Das will also represent India in the Asian School Chess Championship in Bangkok, Thailand. The generous financial support from Annada Spices Industry highlights their commitment not only to business but also to fostering talent and supporting the aspirations of local athletes on the global stage.
