Man arrested with fake Indian notes
The Agartala city police on Friday arrested a fraudster from Orient Choumohani with fake Indian currency of Rs. 5500.
Giving details , officer-in-charge (OC) of West Agartala police station Samaresh Das said that amidst huge gathering of customers across the state due to ‘Chaitra Sale’, one Ratan Deb of Krishnanagar New Boys club was detained by police intelligence persons over suspicion during the transaction .
The police team found 10 fake Indian currency of Rs. 500 denomination from his possession and brought him to the police station, said Das and added that during interrogation, he revealed that he had also purchased some items including shoes with fake Indian note.
Later, police recovered another fake Rs. 500 note from that shoe shop and started investigation to unearth the source of fake notes.
