Man mowed down by speeding Agartala-Sabroom local at Champamura
In a tragic incident one middle aged man was mowed down by a speeding local train at Champamura crossing under Amtali police station on Thursday.
Police sources said that the deceased man was identified as Asit Chakraborty and they recovered his body into many pieces and sent it to the hospital morgue for autopsy. Police added that they lodged an unnatural death (UD) case and started investigation whether the incident was suicide attempt or an accident.
Local sources said that the deceased man was a stable person and it was an accident as he tried to cross the railway track, when a speeding Agartala-Sabroom local train passed through the track of Champamura and he was mowed down by the train within seconds and cut his body into pieces. Locals also said that the way he was moving the track, seems that he didn't notice the speed of the train.
